TRESEMMÉ Beauty-Full VOLUME – REVERSE WASHING

Welcome back to the second part of my TRESemmé x NYFW. Part one was all about the TRESemmé smooth range and how the products were incorporated in New York Fashion week to create some runway hair looks.

Today I’m going to be reviewing the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume range aka the backwards hair washing system. If you haven’t heard about this washing system yet basically, TRESemmé has created a backwards washing system where conditioner is step one and shampoo is step two. The thinking behind this is that conditioner weighs down the hair by using it as step one your hair will get all the nourishing benefits of conditioner and then the shampoo washes away all the weight of conditioner without stripping the hair which results in super fluffy, bouncy and voluminous Beauty-Full hair 😉

The Beauty-Full Volume range consists of five products; Step 1 Conditioner, Step 2 Shampoo and then there are three additional products that can be used alone of in conjunction with each other – a maximiser cream, a mousse and a hair spray.

I have fine hair which means that my roots often fall quite flat and usually the more products I have used in the past the more flat and greasy the roots get. The TRESemmé backwards routine makes my hair so bouncy and lifts my roots, it kind of feels like your hair has had a whole bunch of hair blown in between it and your on a cloud. I use the step 1 and 2 and then follow up with the mousse. I have tried to use the cream and mousse together but my hair did get a little heavy being fine.

Now onto the NYFW Beauty-Full runway look. A little reminder on the easy to hard guide:

THE TWISTED HALF BUN FROM

‘Spray your finger tips with hairspray and run through the hair, to help bring in any flyaways and achieve a more natural polished look.’

Products and Tools needed:

  • Blow dryer
  • Elastics
  • Bobby Pins
  • TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-wash Conditioner & Shampoo
  • TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse
  • TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximiser

STEP 1:
Start with the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume reverse wash system. First, use the Pre-Wash Conditioner to soften the hair, followed by the Shampoo to wash away weight.

STEP 2: Apply a small amount of TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Mousse to the roots and rough dry to enhance natural texture.

STEP 3: Part hair in the centre and pull out one inch sections of hair from ear to ear along the hairline. Pull the rest of your hair into a low pony for now.

STEP 4: Twist the loose hair (from the centre part to the ear) back towards the low pony; once you are half-way through the twist, split hair into two sections and twist the strands around each other. Pin in place and repeat on the opposite side.

STEP 5: Once hair is pulled back, twist the two pulled back sections around each other creating a wide, flat bun.

STEP 6: Release the low pony and a coin size amount of TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Hair Maximiser; work it through hair with your finger tips to encourage natural waves.

THE NATURAL BLOWOUT

Use a soft bristle brush once the look is finished, it’s an easy way to create some natural texture and pull out some flyaways for a lived in feel’.’
