NYX is a brand that I feel (when they’re fully stocked) I can always find something to pick up especially when clicks is having a 3 for 2 YAS, PLUS the brand is very affordable. Today I thought I’d share my love for the NYX blushers.
I was on the hunt for NYX angel blush as I had seen it in a Youtube Video and had never seen a shade like that, its a gorgeous light blush with a brown undertone. My dilemma is at the NYX counter in clicks the testers don’t have names at the bottom of the pan or anywhere and obviously people move the blushers around so its hard to know which tester correlates with the sealed blushers, so I found the shade angel and grabbed it got home, swatched it and it was completely different I felt so defeated so I asked the NYX South Africa team if the colour has changed and they explained that some shades/formulas had in fact changed and very kindly sent me the original angel shade I was looking for. I actually really like both versions of angel:
Left is the newer version of Angel and right is the original version. I find the NYX blushers to be great value for money, they stay on the cheeks all day long and there are a variety of colour to suit many different skin tones. Lets not forget the ever spoken about taupe shade which is a cool tone contouring shade that I’m yet to get my hands on, I have seen it in life and swatched it but lets be honest I’m more of a shape 3 bronzer technique type of girl not the chiseled cheeked goddess.
Then onto the next shade that I picked up after seeing this post by Pink Peonies about the shade Pinched being a dupe for NARS Orgasim; a beautiful pinky golden shade which is kind of the perfect 2 in 1 blush and highlight shade that is HIGHLY pigmented, a light hand is definitely needed with this one which basically means you’ll have this bad boy for years!
