LG NeoChef review and Chickpea Chip recipe

Welcome to my kitchen for a review on the new and nifty LG NeoChef Microwave oven! The NeoChef is far more than just a microwave its an all in one I mean I roasted chicken in it! Basically the NeoChef is the perfect all in one for your kitchen needs, for you to #DesignYourTaste when it comes to your food – if you’re a food connoisseur or like to whip up a simple meal with this bad boy you can do it all!

From the outside the LG NeoChef is absolutely stunning, it has a sleek design with a matte finish (available in slate and black). The idea is that with the NeoChef you really don’t need a full on huge oven/stove because it does everything – from roasting chicken to vegies, normal food heating and of course defrosting. Now for someone like me this is exactly what I need for a stove top I’ll probably end up buying a two plate from Shoprite/Checkers which costs under R400 then this duo will be perfect for our first home together which I’m sure won’t have a huge kitchen anyway.

Now onto all the fancy technical information: The NeoChef has inverter technology that enables more precise temperature control to help defrost foods and avoid overcooked and unthawed areas. This technology allows for even distribution of heat throughout food which means you won’t end up with a burning hot bowl of soup with the contents actually being cold! This feature also has a built in reminder that beeps when its time to turn your food over for example when my chicken has been in for 20 minutes it beeped to let me know the top was done and that its time to give it a turn.

Roast chicken with a little butter, garlic and pepper ground on the top. Kale mix salad with onion, olives and feta. Roast Sweet Potato chips.

The LED light in the NeoChef is x3 brighter than regular microwave ovens, why is this a big deal? It lets you easily check your food without stopping and starting.

The digital display is also sleek with no buttons, everything is done via a touch pad as well as knob to twist for the duration or setting required. It also has a function for you to select if you’d like 12 hr or 24 hr time display, I’m a 12 hr type of girl 🙂

Another technical feature is the microwave has a feature called Smart Diagnosis™ –  if something ever goes wrong with your NeoChef by calling the service centre and activating the Smart Diagnosis feature all you have to do is hold your phone to the symbol at the front of the microwave and it does some fancy diagnostic transmitting to the person on the phone!

Now onto a little healthy snack that I choose instead of a packet of chips – Roasted Chickpeas.

Ingredients:

X1 tin of chickpeas

X2 table spoons of paprika

X2 table spoons of olive oil

How to:

1) Rinse the chickpeas and put them in a bowl with the paprika and olive oil, mix them altogether to ensure even distribution.

2) Roast in the LG NeoChef for 12 Minutes and you have yourself a healthy delicious snack!
