Colai Products #lovelocal

I feel like it has been so long since my last #lovelocal post. If you’re knew in these parts #lovelocal is a segment of Cara Fay that features local brands, artists and generally anything that embodies ‘local is lekkar’ Todays post is based on a fairly new brand called Colai.

Colai Beauty Products South Africa

Colai has a very interesting story as one of the co-founders suffered with problem skin so the brand was created around this, in the hopes of finding a solution for these skin problems. After a lot of research he found that a lot of brands contain harmful and non-eco-friendly ingredients. This fueled the idea that Colai would become a natural-based skincare line. Not only is Colai eco-friendly it is also highly affordable which is very rare for eco-friendly product ranges, see for yourself:

Colai products are all scent free and have no colorants. Ingredients include natural; pomegranate, honeybush, shea butter, coconut butter, goji berry and beeswax extracts.

I tested out a few of the products in the range and today I want to talk about my favourites. Starting with the Shampoo and Conditioner, the Shampoo is sulphate free which is great not only for your hair but if you have hair extensions its a must! I used this duo on my hair and extensions both felt so clean and soft without any extra weighing down. I took this duo as well as the Colai Face Wash with me to Mozambique. Picture this; suncreamed face and salty curled hair, this could basically result in a spotty face and super dry hair, neither became a reality with these Colai products.

Colai Face Wash: a fuss free facewash as I have said above this has no scent. Removes make up as well as cleanses the face. It didn’t leave my face feeling squeaky or dry. The perfect every day in shower facewash.

Colai Shampoo & Conditioner: again Salphate and fragrance free. I found that this duo cleaned my hair without stripping it or weighing it down. These dinky bottles were also perfect for my holiday (that I wish I was still on!)

Have you heard or tried any Colai products before?
