Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Review

There is no doubt that I am a beauty lover but there are a few products that I really get excited to try out, one of these is foundation. I think because it really sets the ‘base’ or canvas for all the make up added on top of it and lets be honest foundation can make or break how your make up lasts throughout the day and affects your overall skin. If anyone gets base products right it’s Elizabeth Arden; I think this is primarily because they are a skincare brand as well so know what ingredients need to be added to give you a double whammy – high quality foundation with skin benefits and coverage!

Elizabeth Arden not only make quality, premium products they’re also innovative and their new releases are always pushing the boundries be it from their stunning lipsticks and lip liners to their skincare and of course make up. The newest make up launch from Elizabeth Arden includes their Flawless Finish Everyday Perfection Bouncy Makeup which is heaven in a compact, literally!

The idea behind the Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Everyday Perfect Boucy make up is that it is a multi-tasker in that it has ingredients to reenergize and revitalize the skin (Peppermint, Ginseng and Caffeine) as well as offering a flawless foundation base.

The formula itself is a hybrid powder gel that is light, weightless and almost feels like it has air within it, if that makes sense I think this is why it is dubbed the Perfect Bouncy Make up! As with all Elizabeth Arden products there has to be some form of innovation with this launch the innovation is within the texture of the product which is a bouncy-gel that forms a ‘network’ of pigments on the face which in-turn mimic the skins natural movement which in a nutshell means it doesn’t get stuck in fine lines, crevices or pores however if you have dry skin or dry patches I would recommend making sure your skin is moisturised as it is a powder so it has more of a matte finish.

What I really like about the Flawless Finish compact is that it is a full proof no muss no fuss foundation, perfect for on the go or to pop in your bag for touch ups throughout the day. I find that it gives a medium to full and buildable coverage and is easy to apply with a foundation brush or the sponge that comes within the compact.

It is said to work for all skin types, for oiler skin types you make need to blot it throughout the day. Available in a variety of 14 shades from Porcelin to Hazelnut and cost R485.

As if I haven’t harped on about Elizabeth Arden as a brand enough another thing they always give consumers access to are the consumer studies they conduct before a product is launched. These are the results of the Flawless Finish Everyday Perfect Boucy make up consumer study, based on 55 women ages 21-55 immediately after application. (Wear claims were asked at 8 and 24 hours.)

  • 93% of women thought their skin looked smooth
  • 85% of women agreed foundation blurs fine lines and imperfections
  • 93% of women thought skin looked healthy and saw an improved overall skin appearance
  • 78% of women thought skin felt energized, refreshed and awakened
  • 82% of women thought skin had a natural glow and imparts a bright complexion
  • 95% of women agreed foundation has a  luxurious, lightweight feel

Have you ever tried an Elizabeth Arden foundation? Psst I have another review coming up soon on a few more of their base products including concelar and a stunning lightweight powder!
