Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Lipgloss

It’s amazing how ones style evolves from clothing to make up, if you had asked me a mere two years ago what is my favourite lipgloss I probably wouldn’t have an answer for you, I was so far removed from ever wanting to try lipgloss and opted for a moisturising lipstick instead. Fast forward to now and I am obsessed with lipgloss (not all lipglosses, a girl needs to be picky because formula is important, ain’t nobody got time for gloopy sticky lips). My most recent gloss obsession is the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine, particularly the shade Midnight Cowgirl, the most perfect nudey peach gloss with gorgeous shimmer.

Hi-Fi shine lipglosses are filled with vitamin E and peppermint oil to keep your pout hydrated with a vanilla-mint flavour. Immediately after applying your lips feel tingly and the formula creates a plumping effect.

Whatever gloss frequency you’re on, we’ve got you covered. Tune in to everything from blaring brights to soft neutrals in four different effects—metallic, holographic, cream and sheer cream.

Hi-Fi shine is made of the perfect formula, its thick enough to not bleed or feather but not sticky and wears off evenly. The shade range is HUGE nudes to pinks to deep plums a whole 22 shades; from sheer pinky shades such as Obsessed to holographic nude shades like SPL and holographic plum shade like Snapped and the perfect neutral shade for all skin types called Naked.

As mentioned my favourite shade is Midnight Cowgirl, its such a versatile shade as it can be used on it own for a sheer nude that enhances your natural lip colour or as a topper over lipstick. I often apply it over a pink, nude or brown toned lipstick or lipliner e/g MAC creme d’nude, twig, whirl or even GOSH lip liner in nougat crisp.

Another favourite is Dirtytalk a holographic, metallic burgundy with pink shimmer. This usually wouldn’t be a shade that I’d gravitate to but I just love the way it looks on the lips, it plumps the lips and gives off different tones depending on the lighting and if worn over lipstick of on natural lips

The packaging is a unique rounded flat rectangle shade with a unique flat applicator that is made out of  flocked-silicone which is Urban Decay’s newest technology that allows you to swipe on a generous, even layer of gloss. No need to double dip (but please do if you want!).

The Hi-FI Shine glosses cost R290 each  and is available in 22 shades. In case you didn’t know Urban Decay is 100% cruelty-free! Are you on the lipgloss train?
