The Cream Primer Pt 2

Welcome back to part two of my primer series, have you seen part one – all about the dewiness? Today I’ll be talking you through my top two cream primers one high end and one budget friendly, the hydrating/moisturising primers that are perfect for dry, dehydrated and winter skin.

I have said that I have combo to dehydrated skin which means there is a need for a cream type of primer in my make up stash, especially when my skin is feeling extra dehydrated and in need of a moisture boost.

  1. Maxfactor FaceFinity Primer R209 (I have written a whole review on this here)

In this review I mentioned that it reminds me a lot of the Too Faced Hangover primer which is exactly why I have included both of them into this blog post. Facefinity has SPF 20 in it which makes it perfect for during the day or to wear under foundation that doesn’t have SPF in it eg Loreal Infallible Matt. It glides onto the skin like a thin moisturiser/cream but sinks straight in. It doesn’t go very tacky or sticky so if you hate that about certain primers then this is definitely one to have a look at. A little also seems to go a long way which means it will last ages. I do find that if I am having an extra hot day I can get shiny on my T-Zone but it doesn’t make the foundation seperate or look ‘pixalated’ so all I need to do is just dab the shine away and I’m good to go.

2. Too Faced HangoverX Primer $32.00 / R450

Unfortunately this isn’t available in South Africa but if you have someone abroad that can mule it for you then I definitely recommend it, especially fro dehydrated skin. Lets take a moment for the scent, it smells like coconut and basically a beach holiday! It makes sense as it has Coconut Water, Electrolytes and Probiotics in it. Not only is the smell amazing the product itself is just so luxurious and I will definitely repurchase it over and over. It glides onto the skin seemlessly, sinks in straight away, isn’t tacky/sticky and makes your foundation stay put all day.

It is called the ‘replenishing primer’ and I completely get why, it just injects so much moisture and into the face. I definitely think the Max Factore Facefinity is very similar to the Too Faced one, they have a lot of the same benefit and are very similar in texture. I could really go and on about this primer its a firm favourite of mine!

Have you tried either of these primers? Be sure to stay tuned for the third part of the primer series.
